Ruijters brings out the grotesque in the pages of his graphic novel. One of the things that stands out the most in the story is one of the most traumatic memories in Hieronymus' life: the great Bosch fire. This fire recreated with vivid reds that give the reader the sensation of suffocation and intense heat
