Reúne trece relatos tradicionales de los cinco países nórdicos -Dinamarca, Finlandia, Islandia, Noruega y Suecia-. En representación de Dinamarca, hay tres cuentos de Hans Christian Andersen, un clásico de la literatura infantil. Por parte de Finlandia, dos historias para niños que adaptó Parker Fillmore. De Islandia, por un lado hay tres cuentos tradicionales -que incluye una versión del origen de los elfos- y un relato dirigido a un público juvenil. Los relatos tradicionales de Noruega son "El rey Valemón, el oso blanco", "Caperucita desgreñada" y "El muchacho que fue a visitar el Viento del Norte". Es en suma una selección diversa que, por un lado, muestra la vigencia y aporte de la literatura de los países del norte de Europa y, por el otro, destaca su lugar privilegiado en el ámbito de la literatura infantil y juvenil. It brings together thirteen traditional stories from the five Nordic countries -Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Representing Denmark are three stories by Hans Christian Andersen, a classic of children's literature. On Finland's part, two children's stories adapted by Parker Fillmore. From Iceland, on the one hand there are three traditional tales -which includes a version of the origin of the elves- and a story aimed at a young audience. The traditional stories of Norway are "King Valemon, the white bear", "Russy Riding Hood" and "The boy who went to visit the North Wind". In short, it is a diverse selection that, on the one hand, shows the validity and contribution of the literature of the northern European countries and, on the other, highlights its privileged place in the field of children's and youth literature.
