Isabel tiene una rutina que cumple al pie de la letra: los jueves a las cinco de la tarde, peinada y vestida con esmero, saca la porcelana del vajillero y pone una mesa elegante debajo de una pérgola perfumada de rosas y jazmines. Ordena cada pieza del juego tal como le enseñó su abuela Ana. ¡Hasta parece que escucha su voz! Así recibe a sus amigas, tan coquetas como ella, para tomar el té. Pero algo falla: de pronto ese hábito les resulta aburrido. Isabel bosteza. Un bostezo enorme, inesperado, fuera de lugar en una mesa tan delicada. Y es entonces, con el bostezo, que se produce la magia. La rutina se disuelve como un terrón de azúcar, y la anfitriona y sus amigas descubren las maravillas que escondía aquel juego de tazas (¿lo sabría la abuela Ana?). Isabel has a routine that she follows to the letter: on Thursdays at five in the afternoon, carefully combed and dressed, she takes the china out of the dish rack and sets an elegant table under a pergola scented with roses and jasmine. She arranges each game piece just as her grandmother Ana taught her, and it even seems that she hears her voice! This is how she receives her friends, as flirtatious as she is, for tea. But something is wrong: suddenly that habit is boring for them. Elizabeth yawns. A huge, unexpected yawn, out of place on such a delicate table. And it is then, with the yawn, that the magic occurs. The routine dissolves like a lump of sugar, and the hostess and her friends discover the wonders hidden in that set of cups (would Grandma Ana know?).
