Hieronymus Bosch, a medieval painter who lived in Den Bosch. This graphic novel reflects the life that the clergy led in the Middle Ages, full of luxury and corruption; also, the life of the vulgar full of ridicule and extravagance. Ruijters brings out the grotesque in the pages of his graphic novel. One of the things that stands out the most in the story is one of the most traumatic memories in Hieronymus' life: the great Bosch fire. This fire recreated with vivid reds that give the reader the sensation of suffocation and intense heat.
